They met in Thorntons at Liverpool Street train station... 12 years later, they got married. This is Dave and Matt's wedding story:
"We wanted to surprise our friends and family at every turn, so our wedding day involved a lot of curve-ball thinking. From our dog appearing as a grooms’ maid, and our surprise arrival at our reception venue - Number 90 Hackney Wick - on a canal boat, to a human performance artist's 'guest book' and the dance troupe The Fabulus of Unicorns, kicking off our party, we think we made our day pretty unique."
They held their ceremony in the grade II listed, Asylum Chapel at the Asylum in Peckham. It was bombed in WW2, but still has its beautiful stained glass windows and fabulous rough luxe interior.
It was then time to change venues, with guests leaving on a double decker bus...
Leanne, their videographer from Blooming Lovely Films played chauffeur, breaking almost every traffic regulation going, so that they could stop on Tower Bridge for a portrait of epic proportions.
Dave and Matt held their reception at warehouse space, Number 90 Hackney Wick. Guests arrived and mingled with drinks on the decking overlooking the river, before spying Dave and Matt sailing up river in a canal boat!
They also hired a living guestbook performer...
served Pimms...
and sat down for their dinner and knees up - a very happy ever after event.
