Four years ago, former Big Brother Australia star, Tim Dormer was just friends with Ash, about to embark on a roadtrip. But during that trip they camped alone on beaches under the stars and fell in love. They got engaged three years later after travelling to San Francisco for the 50th anniversary of the 1967 Summer of Love and held their engagement party and shoot with 120 friends and family in attendance, a week after Australia voted 'yes' to equal marriage. Ash tells us about their engagement...
"We consider ourselves modern-hippies so we planned the trip specially. We knew a proposal was coming but Tim popped the question during a beautiful sunset on the beach next to the Golden Gate Bridge, singing the 1967 Scott Mckenzie hippie anthem If You’re Going to San Francisco …and yes we were wearing flowers in our hair!"
"We had our engagement party shoot with a big Australian Bush dance celebration, it was only a week after Australia had voted yes to marriage equality, meaning our relationship would one day be legally recognised in our country. It was a wonderful fun night celebrating with our family and friends in the Australian bush!"
