IN A NUTSHELL
Vanessa is a professional photographer in the East Midlands who lives with her wife, a diva of a cat, and two chocolate Labradors. She is passionate about photographing weddings, particularly same-sex weddings because – as she discovered when she got married – “there’s no rulebook and that means you can have so much fun creating your own”. Focused on working with her couples to capture all the fun, laughter and tears on camera Vanessa will create stunning, contemporary keepsakes of your wedding day.
Why do you want to work with us?
Having married my wife in 2006, I get how important it is to choose the right photographer for arguably the best day of your life so far. After all, we throw the best weddings, the best parties and have the best set of supportive family and friends cheering us on!
What is your approach to weddings?
I don’t believe in one size fits all. I do believe in getting to know you and working together to create the keepsake of your day that you will both love. I love capturing all those fabulous candid moments that you may have missed seeing, as well as the beloved formal images. Your day is such a whirlwind, you’ll be able to relive it with the stunning and contemporary images I provide.
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
I adore being part of my clients happiest day and capturing all the fun with their family and friends whilst doing the job I love. I enjoy the planning and preparation involved in the months leading up to the big day so that together we can create a memento that my clients will love. There is nothing better than seeing your clients thrilled faces when they see their images for the first time.
What is your favourite wedding song?
I’m going to have to choose the song my wife and I picked for our first dance. We performed a cheesy choreographed dance to Barry White’s You’re The First, The Last, My Everything. Think ‘Ally McBeal’ crossed with ‘Friends’! It went down a storm and every time we hear the song, we attempt to break out our dance moves again!
What is your favourite wedding reading?
‘I Wanna Be Yours’ by John Cooper Clarke. This was another bit of fun at our evening reception when my wife incorporated it into her speech as a surprise. Everyone laughed heartily as soon as she started, ‘Let me be your vacuum cleaner, breathing in your dust…’ It was truly unforgettable!
