The Palace has two venues licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships and each have extra spaces available for your reception.
THE GARDEN ROOM
Beautifully light and airy, the Garden Room opens out onto your own private garden. Vast in size, this garden was once used by King Henry VIII, but can be yours to use exclusively to sip champagne with your wedding guests before adjourning into the spacious, 1920s-style orangery for dinner and dancing. You can, of course, host your reception in Henry VIII's glorious Great Hall. Featuring an incredible hammer-beam ceiling, the Great Hall is England's last and greatest medieval hall and is one of the most stunning rooms in Britain. It can accommodate up to 270 diners, or 400 guests at a reception. Henry VIII's beer cellar The Undercroft perfectly complements the Great Hall above it and can be used after dinner for dancing and entertainment. The oak panelled Cartoon Gallery can also be used for dinners and receptions. Once featuring 'cartoons' by Renaissance artist, Raphael, it now hangs copies of the originals and has beautiful views over Fountain Court.
LITTLE BANQUETING HOUSE
Originally built by William III for personal entertaining, the Little Banqueting House is set within the palace gardens opposite the famous sunken garden and is ideal for more intimate weddings. It features its own private walled garden, has gorgeous views of the River Thames and offers a fabulous vista of the Tudor and Baroque architecture from the stone terrace. Within, are paintings and murals by 18th century artist Antonio Verrio. You and your guests may even make an entrance by arriving by river, as the King once did.
