    Built in the 14th century and set within the sloping hills of Fiesole, the Renaissance villa of Il Salviatino has it all - breathtaking views over Florence, lavishly appointed rooms, and privacy. Once a cultural gathering point for artists, performers, and intellectuals, the Il Salviatino hotel now mixes Italian craftsmanship with ultra-modern touches, and has a suite (The Melodia Suite) that's been voted the most romantic room in the world.

    Surrounded by over 12 acres of private parkland and just a short distance from Florence's the city centre, Il Salviatino combines its aristocratic past with the elegant modernity of the 21st century. Here frescos, rich handcrafted leather and works of art sit alongside the most sophisticated technologies.

    All rooms are individually designed to incorporate the preservation of original and unique features, including 19th century frescoes, huge marble fireplaces and ancient mosaics. These precious finds work with carefully considered antique and modern pieces promoting the finest Italian craftsmanship.

    Luxury Space

    Immersed in the luxurious gardens, Spa Il Salviatino rests in the greenest corner of the grounds. Spa Il Salviatino's objective is to work harmoniously and efficiently, helping guests rejuvenate both body and mind. Using products from the impressive Dr. Vranjes Laboratory, you can enjoy a wide range of holistic treatments as its experienced therapists work their magic and treat you to an indulgent relaxation of the senses.

    LOCATION & ACTIVITIES

    Florence is beautifully romantic in every way, with magnificent art and architecture and Il Salviatino offers you a bird's eye view. Juts minutes away (7km) from the city's Florence Duomo, Il Salviatino boasts some of the most spectacular views of the Tuscan capital, but is set within the tranquil hills of Fiesole. Explore the city one day, making use of Il Salviatino's complimentary shuttle service, and tour the Chianti wine region the next. The hotel's Service Ambassadors can organise private tours of museums, Ferrari and Lamborghini tours of Chianti, and helicopter flights to neighbouring regions.

    Must do: visit the Palazzo Strozzi gallery, see Michelangelo's David, and make sure you leave some time for a trip to the vineyards of Chianti and the unforgettable Amalfi Coast.

Il Salviatino's 45 rooms and suites are located in the main villa and in the garden greenhouse area. Each is individually decorated, reflecting the particularities of the villa and its gardens, an elegant blend of local artisan-craftsmanship and the latest technologies.

    24hr concierge, WiFi, sit down rain showers with white LEDs, Nespresso coffee machines, 100% handmade Tuscan linen bedding, safes, cordless light controls, Plasma TV concealed within mirror, complimentary mineral waters at turndown, complimentary daily newspaper.

    LOCAL RECOMMENDATIONS

    Recommended local restaurants:

    One of Florence's foodie gems is Cibreo on Via Andrea del Verrocchio - a fantastic trattoria full of atmosphere and serving top notch Italian dishes.

    A favourite amongst the locals is Trattoria Pandemonio, a superb, family owned Italian restaurant. Via del Leone.

    Another local favourite is Il Santo Bevitore on Via di Santo Spirito; stylish inside, it serves sophisticated Italian cuisine. Il Cestello, is also equally as fabulous. Piazza di Cestello, 9.

    Recommended local bars:

    Effortlessly cool and slightly bohemian cocktail bar Volume in the Oltrarno District (Piazza Santo Spirito), has live music and art.

    In the summer, try Flò by Piazzale Michelangelo. Via dello Statuto

    Cultural highlights:

    There's so much to see in Florence, but the absolute must-do is a visit to Palazzo Strozzi gallery. Michelangelo's David, the Uffizi, and the Oltrarno district should also be on your list. So too, a night of opera at the new Teatro dell'Opera di Firenze.

    The food and drinks at Il Salviatino have been conceived to be far more than just another service; instead Il Salviatino want to take guests on an unforgettable journey to the roots of Tuscan gastronomy. Stay and dine here, and you can enjoy a series of local specialties - simple, incredibly flavourful food, carefully crafted by Executive Chef Carmine Calò using the finest local ingredients; many sourced from Il Salviatino's very own kitchen garden.
