The Royal Observatory

Have one of the most enviable London city views as your backdrop by by marrying at the home of time: Flamsteed House at the Royal Observatory Greenwich in Greenwich Royal Park. Commissioned by King Charles II in 1675 and designed by Sir Christopher Wren as the home of Royal Astronomy, this is one of the most unique wedding venues in London.

Impressive Spaces

The Octagon Room is the only surviving Wren interior; it was designed specifically for observing the stars and this wood-panelled room features soaring windows, a private telescope, and 360-degree views of Greenwich Park, the Thames. Host an evening wedding breakfast of up to 54 people here, and you can not only gaze at the stars, but you'll receive a unique telescope viewing.

The Courtyard is a fantastic space for you to enjoy a glass of champagne on the top of the historic Meridian Line, and make the most of the opportunity by taking an iconic photo of where eastern and western hemispheres meet.

Planetarium Dancing & Star Gazing

The delicate nature of the world-famous Harrison timepieces at the Flamsteed House means that dancing is not permitted inside, however lying to the south of the House is the Peter Harrison Planetarium, a versatile late Victorian venue that can be hired in conjunction with Flamsteed House, and is perfect for late night dancing and entertainment.

The planetarium features floor-to-ceiling windows in the foyer, and a star-studded floor where you can dine and dance. You and your guests can also be treated to a special planetarium show from one of the venue's astronomers who will take you anywhere in the world, fly you to the heart of the sun or simply enjoy the night sky on the evening of your wedding.
