In a Nutshell
Colonnades, walled gardens, beautiful red-brick Victorian facade – if you’re looking for a romantic Derby wedding venue, try the Hallmark Hotel Derby Midland. Grade 11 listed and originally commissioned by the son of George Stephenson, a pioneer in steam locomotives, the hotel was the world’s first purpose-built railway hotel. It was such an important, landmark hotel, Queen Victoria once visited it and stayed the night. Today, it retains all of its iconic, Victoria charm, but has a fabulous modern edge.
Victorian Splendour & Modern Panache
Step inside and you’ll see many of its original period features including grand oak doors, paneling and sash windows, but painted in warm olives, rich earthy shades and soft pastels.
